Laura Murphy is the writer and composer behind new Australian musicals The Lovers, The Dismissal and Zombie! The Musical. Her work has been honoured with a number of awards including The David Williamson Prize for Excellence in Writing for Australian Theatre (The Dismissal), TimeOut Arts & Culture Award for Best Musical (Zombie! The Musical), Sydney Theatre Award for Best Production of a Musical (Zombie! The Musical) and the Matilda Award for Best Musical or Cabaret (The Lovers). 

As a performer, Laura most recently featured in Barbra: The Greatest Star at Hayes Theatre and Nails: The Musical at the Eternity Playhouse. Other performing credits include "Tania" in Muriel's Wedding, "Lenora" in Cry Baby and "Sally Brown" in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown for which she received the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
