Sally Dashwood
Choreographer
Sally Dashwood is a Sydneybased creative, performer, educator and mum, currently working as an Artist in Residence for Sydney Catholic Schools. She is the creator and choreographer of Australia’s acclaimed tap company Girls On Tap, winning Best Choreographer at the Rave Theater Festival in New York City and performing to soldout audiences across Sydney and regional NSW. Her work is also featured in Light The Way: Inspiring Stories from Australian Dancers.
Sally made her directorial debut with Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn at Hayes Theatre Co. Other directing credits include Revival Director for Two Weddings, One Bride (Opera Australia), Associate Director/Associate Choreographer for A Chorus Line (Darlinghurst Theatre Co.), Assistant Director for La Bohème (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour), and Assistant to Creative Directors The Squared Division on The X Factor.
As a choreographer, Sally’s work spans theatre, film and arenascale productions. Credits include Into the Woods (Belvoir), Godspell (Hayes Theatre Co.), Hubris and Humiliation (Sydney Theatre Company), and the arena spectacular School of Rock for Sydney Catholic Schools at Qudos Bank Arena, featuring more than 3,000 young performers. Her choreography for the short film Mumlife was selected for the 2022 Cannes Film Festival (La Cinef).
Her performance career includes Fame the Musical, Candy Man Show, Mack and Mabel, Happy Feet 2, and appearances on Australia’s Next Top Model, The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent and Celebrity Splash. She was also a Top 20 finalist on So You Think You Can Dance Australia.
Sally is passionate about creating work and supporting other artists as codirector of her production company, Well Done Creative.
